Video Compressor

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. Introduction

Video Compressor: Size Limit (the “App”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the App handles, where processing occurs, and how locally stored information can be removed.

2. Information We Collect

The App does not collect personal information, create user accounts, or transmit your videos or video analysis results to the developer or to an external server. Video analysis and compression are performed on your device.

3. Video and Metadata Processing

When you select a video, the App creates a temporary local copy and analyzes information needed for compression, such as duration, file size, resolution, frame rate, audio availability, HDR characteristics, motion, detail, noise, and scene changes. These values are used only to choose compression settings on your device.

Depending on your settings, the App may preserve or remove creation-date and location metadata in the compressed output. The original video is not modified or deleted by the App.

4. Device Permissions

The App may use the following device features:

  • Photo picker: to let you select the video you want to compress.
  • Photo Library Add access: requested only when you choose to save a compressed video to Photos.
  • Local storage: to hold temporary input/output files and app preferences on your device.

5. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores preferences such as whether to keep creation-date or location metadata, along with a local count used to decide when to show Apple’s review prompt. This information is stored only on your device and is not sent to the developer.

6. Retention and Deletion

Imported and compressed videos are kept only in the App’s temporary storage as needed for the current workflow. The App removes managed temporary files when you reset the workflow, choose another video, cancel, or encounter a processing failure. iOS may also clear temporary files automatically. Videos you explicitly save to Photos remain there until you delete them using Photos.

Local preferences remain until you change them, reset the App’s data through iOS, or uninstall the App. Because no account or server-side user data is created, there is no developer-held account data to request for deletion.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The App does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

8. External Links and Sharing

The App opens external pages only when you choose a legal, support, App Store, or sharing action. Content you share is delivered to the destination you select through the iOS share sheet. Apple and other selected services process information under their own privacy policies.

9. Third-Party Disclosure

The developer does not sell, rent, share, or disclose user information to third parties. The App has no server-side user database.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed specifically at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App or applicable requirements. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
